I'd rather have the Blackhawks sit Hossa if he's not 100%. There's not need to rush him or risk any injuries. Plus, Hossa's absence give more time for some of the hopefuls to show what they have.

Agreed...and as Hossa gets older than likelihood he will miss 10-15 games per year is high and should be expected.

I still haven't seen much of Nordstrom but i like the fact that he seems to have the type of game to replace Frolik on the 4th line and PK. As far as pure speed goes though, how does he compare? Im assuming he's not quite as fast as Fro cuz that's asking a lot, but is he at least someone who you can generally label a "fast" skater?

That is unacceptable. At least the new schedule will solve that issue.

Saw him play last year in Rockford. Good Skater with good speed, not Frolik or Stalberg speed.....never out of position, smart with the puck, great along the boards and is not afraid to hit...and could use another 20lbs.....but thats with every Swede.

And due to injuries etc, Toews and Crosby have not played against each other since 2008 or 2009.....Another travesty.

I just checked and do not believe that they have ever played a regular season game vs each other. That is I believe 3 times Crosby was hurt and once Toews was hurt. Goes back to beginning of Toews career.

Thank goodness CSN is airing this one. Should be a fun one to watch tonight with the kids vying for spots.

Just like you JJ I've had my eye on Nordstrom as a prospect for a while. Really like what I've heard from those who have seen him in camp and in Tuesday's game. I also appreciate Q's stance that he's looking for the right fit and not necessarily the most skilled player. Nordstrom is a sleeper who could sneak in as Frolik's replacement given his skill set and the chemistry he's building with Kruger.

Brutal. Fans shouldn't be deprived of such terrific matchups. In the future they won't be.

So it looks like Hossa tweaked his back in practice and may not play all preseason.

Just a hunch, but I now expect Marian to miss alot of hockey this season...another opportunity for someone to prove they're worthy.
